Company Profile
Wink
& Mackenzie is one of the oldest legal firms in Moray having
been established for well over 100 years. In 1998 the firm amalgamated
with another local firm, Cooper Laing, which has led to further
expansion.
We
moved to our current location at The Old Station, Maisondieu Road
in Elgin in April, 2003. The move to one of the oldest and most
atmospheric "landmark" buildings in the city was prompted
by a number of factors, not least of which was our desire to provide
our clients with plentiful free front door parking, a first for
any legal firm in the area. Our new spacious premises also feature
ground level interview rooms for those unable or not wishing to
manage stairs. Wide door frames make wheelchair access available
to us for the first time.
Our
prime area of expertise relates to domestic property and to promote
our expanding Estate Agency operation, another first for the firm
was the opening of "The Property Shop" at 35 High Street,
Elgin, giving our clients the best available promotion for their
properties.
A
highly trained and motivated staff form the backbone of our business
and the quill-pen, so long an emblem of our profession, has been
replaced by the latest computer and information technology.
Our
aim is to provide clients with a friendly and reliable service at
a reasonable cost so that they can, and do, return whenever the
need arises. We are proud of the fact that we retain the vast majority
of our clients over many years and build mutually beneficial relationships
with them.
We
encourage clients to consult us at an early stage in any development
in order to prevent the later rectification of costly mistakes.
Early initial interviews also allow us to provide clients with an
accurate and free estimate of future costs. Our value for money
one-stop personal and professional service is tailored to meet individual
needs.
The
firm has a very wide geographical client base with partners actively
doing business in a variety of locations including Edinburgh, Glasgow,
Aberdeen and Inverness and we are happy to provide a property and
commercial related service throughout Scotland.
Our
advice is independent and impartial, operating under the professional
Code of Conduct established by The Law Society of Scotland.
Taking
an active role in the local community the firm has actively sponsored
and participated in such events as -
